Abstract
The Vital Capacity sitting position was determined in 259 ROKAF Cadets, using KYS Spirometer.
As the result of this study, the following conclusions were obtained.
(1) Body height and weight were on an average 168.7¡¾4.6cm and 64.5kg+5.3 respectively, when compared with those of normal Koreans of same age group, that was taller and heavier. (P<0.001)
(2) Vital Capacity of the subjects was 4571¡¾414(ml) in Average.
(3) The correlation-coefficient-between height and vital capacity was r=0.464(P<0.001), and the regression equation was obtained as follows. V. C. (ml)=41.8xheight-2480
(4) The correlation coefficient between body surface area and vital capacity was r=0.632(P<0.001), and the egression equation was obtained as follows; V.C. (ml)=1706 x B.S.A + 1631.
(5) The Correlation coefficient between girth of chest and capacity was r=0.465, and the regression equation was obtained follows;
V.C. (ml)=58.12 x G.L-665. (6) The correlation coefficient between Harvard step test score and vital capacity was r=0.125(P<0.001), and the regression equation was as follows; V.C. (m/l)=2.85xH.S.T.S.+4205.84.
